China Young Scientific & Technical Workers' Association (CYSTWA), established in 1993, is the mass organization of uniting & organizing the young scientific & technical workers (YSTW) to carry out the scientific programs within national Constitution and Law .

   The tasks for CYSTWA are as follows:

   To organize the YSTW to go in for academic exchanges, to liven up academic ideas and to improve the level of courses of study; to develop the programs for scientific proof, technical consultation ,technical service and suggestions ; to help the YSTW enrich new knowledge; to carry out various kinds of activities among the young workers; to compile and publish popular science books and periodicals; to develop international scientific and technical exchanges with world's scientific and technical body and YSTW; to learn from others advanced science & technology management experiences; to teach the youngsters to comprehend “Science and Technology is initiative productive forces” and “respecting knowledge, science and persons of ability” ; to reflect YSTW wishes and to protect YSTW legitimate rights and interests; to provide service for YSTW ; to recommend, cite, encourage and reward the excellent YSTW, to provide good working conditions for YSTW.

   CYSTWA institutes personal membership and group membership. Its highest organ, membership representative conference, is elected for a term of five years. In exceptional cases, the board of directors of association is entitled to stop or prolong the term of office .The association consists of one president & several Vice-presidents, which are elected by membership representative conference. In exceptional cases, the board of directors can change or add the president or vice-presidents. The president & vice presidents of association are also the president and vice-presidents of the board of directors.

   During the critical period of setting up socialism marketing economic system and modernization, our country needs to bring up a lot of excellent management personnel and the persons of extraordinary ability in all the lines. Both excellent YSTW with science & technology of modernization and thousands of qualified workers are needed, They are the workers' groups of striding into the new century.
