Bing Xin,(1900-1999,real name Xie Wanying) was a famous famal writer of China.

Born in Fuzhou and educated at Yenching University in Peking, where she graduated in Literature, and at Wellesley College in the United States, where she gained an MA in English Literature, she returned to China in 1926 and taught at Yanjing University, Qinghua University and Peking Women's Wenli College, and also for a year in Tokyo (1949-1950). She began writing during the May Fourth Movement and had many works of prose and poetry, as well as translations, published during her lifetime. She held several official positions, including that of vice-chairwoman of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and was a delegate to the National People's Congress.
